Tilson Tuesdays, Jerry Luke

For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Jerry!

Jerry is an OSP Engineer III based remotely from Hood River, Oregon, and is responsible for designing fiber optic networks, including fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), transport, backhaul, and distribution networks. Before working as an engineer, Jerry served in the Air Force for nine years as part of the Air Transportation Division.

“I have found Tilson to be very welcoming and a place where all ideas matter,” said Jerry. “I feel like the skill sets I’ve acquired over 28 years in telecom are being put to good use, and I know that I am a valued employee. Additionally, the compensation and benefits are top-notch.”

Outside of work, Jerry enjoys sailing and spending time flying in his flight simulator. He is originally from Enfield, Connecticut, and has since lived in Hawaii, Texas, and now Oregon. His favorite type of food is Italian, he loves a good scary movie, and he has two cats and a dog.

Fun fact: Jerry has a teaching degree from the Air Force, where he spent five years as a Technical Training Instructor working with new recruits in basic training. In his class, they would learn how to load cargo aircraft (C-130, C-141, C-5), which carried a variety of equipment, troops, explosives, and other hazardous materials.

We are grateful to have you on the team, Jerry, and thank you for your service!
