Tilson Tuesdays, Larry Bennett

For this week’s Tilson Tuesdays employee spotlight, meet Larry Bennett!

Larry is the Director of Vendor Management at Tilson and works remotely out of Iowa. While Tilson self performs 90% of our network design and build services, we rely on experienced subcontractors for about 10% of our work. This is where Larry and his team come in. He leads a group that manages subcontractor and general management efforts across the nation, acting as a liaison between Tilson’s Outside Plant, Wireless, and Electric Vehicle teams and the community of subcontractors we work with to ensure they meet our quality and safety standards. If you’re interested in becoming a subcontractor for Tilson, please reach out to Larry’s team at

Approaching his first full year with Tilson, Larry says that “from day one, everyone has been so welcoming and open. I have been incredibly impressed by the sense of community and Tilson’s executive leadership team, who really do value and care for our employees. They’re not just words in a mission statement or a poster on a wall, they really do care about you as an individual.”

In his free time, Larry likes to camp, hunt, see live music, and go to sporting events. He finds cooking relaxing and has a mean lasagna recipe that he makes for his wife and two daughters. Originally from Chicago, Larry is a fan of the Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. Now that he’s in Iowa, he’s added the Iowa Hawkeyes to his favorites list, and he is a big fan of both men’s and women’s basketball.

Fun fact: Larry served in the U.S. Air Force from 1991 to 1995 working air to ground communications in an airlift control squadron.

Thank you, Larry, for bringing your 25+ years of telecom experience to Tilson and for sharing your talents with those on our team!
