Tilson Announces Executive Promotions and Leadership Changes

For Immediate Release

PORTLAND, ME (02/22/2024). Tilson, a national leader in network development and information infrastructure services, today announced the appointment of Adria Horn to President and Tim Schneider to Chief Legal Officer. In addition, Tilson is proud to announce the promotion of three exceptional individuals including Amy Stark, VP of HR and Talent Acquisition, Jamie Schwarz, AVP of Telecom, and Matthew Cyr, AVP of Tilson’s Strategic Planning and Execution Office. With over 1,400 employees in more than 25 locations, these changes signify Tilson’s ongoing commitment to delivering superior services to its customers and clients.

Adria Horn, President and EVP of Workforce, joined Tilson in 2018. She oversees seven critical areas supporting Tilson’s national growth: Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Safety, Training, Fleet & Equipment, Facilities and Marketing & Communication. Under Horn’s leadership, Tilson has achieved rapid scaling and national expansion through a strategic organic growth plan, best-in-class system implementations, grown the internal operational support teams and kept safety and culture for Tilson employees at the forefront. Horn is also still serving in the US Army Reserves as an instructor for the US Army’s Command and General Staff College.

Tim Schneider, Chief Legal Officer, joined Tilson in 2017 as General Counsel and Tilson’s first in-house lawyer. Over the past seven years, Schneider has built a highly effective legal team from the ground up that supports the company as it scaled from 100 to over 1,400 employees. Tilson’s work regularly involves intersections of firsts: regulatory issues of first impression, first of its kind projects for clients, first time building new internal systems and processes. Schneider’s ability to lead and thoughtfully navigate complex legal and regulatory issues at scale has been paramount for managing Tilson’s growth.

“I am fortunate to work with such talented leaders every day and their contributions to Tilson far exceed their areas of oversight,” said Darrell Ingram, Tilson CEO. “Adria and Tim, both exceptional leaders, possess strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to our company’s success that will position us for even greater achievements in the future. As we continue to innovate and drive growth, all the leaders recently promoted at Tilson will lead our teams to new heights and reinforce our position as an industry leader.”

Amy Stark, VP of HR and Talent Acquisition, leads Tilson’s talent acquisition strategy to recruit and retain a diverse, high performing talent pool to support Tilson’s growing business units across the country. Since joining Tilson in 2022, Stark redesigned and grew HR operations to improve effectiveness in staff recruitment, retention, operations partnership and professional development. Prior to joining Tilson, Stark held leadership positions at Na Ali’i LLC, the Hertz Corporation, and supported the Military Readiness Program during her time at the Pentagon.

Jamie Schwarz, AVP of Telecom, leads architecture and engineering, construction, maintenance and site deployment teams for Tilson’s wireless projects across the country. With over 18 years in telecom, Schwarz joined Tilson in 2022 as Director of Tilson’s wireless department with a focus on strategic planning, customer delivery, field operations, and safety. Prior to joining Tilson, he worked for major network deployment organizations including Nexius and MasTec.

Matthew Cyr joined Tilson in 2018 as Lead Estimator and has been promoted to AVP of Tilson’s Strategic Planning and Execution Office. Cyr provides leadership and overall accountability for project management teams across all of Tilson’s business units. Since joining Tilson, Matthew has successfully led various teams beginning with estimating and bidding achieving significant revenue growth and most recently, leading the Project Management Office.

This announcement comes just four months after the company hired Alan Anthony, Senior VP of Engineering, to oversee Tilson’s 200+ engineering team. Anthony previously served as Vice President for Byers Engineering, a MasTec Company. Joining Anthony, Tilson hired Natalee Cross, VP of Engineering, East, and Justin Mott, VP of Engineering, West, to lead engineering operations as it designs, plans, and builds a full scope of underground and aerial, wireline and wireless network services. Cross and Mott both worked for Byers Engineering prior to joining Tilson and both drove the expansion of their department’s more than three times its original size.

Tilson initiated the search for a new Chief Operating Officer in January of 2023 and continues to seek applications for this leadership role. Additional new leadership roles are available on Tilson’s open careers page
