Tilson Tuesdays, Ben Hays

For this week’s Tilson Tuesdays employee highlight, meet Ben Hays!

Ben first joined Tilson as a SkillBridge intern the summer of 2022 and was hired full-time at the end of his internship in early 2023. Tilson is a proud SkillBridge program participant, which helps military members at the end of their service transition to the civilian job market. In Ben’s case, he served six years in the Air Force as a Radar, Airfield, and Weather Systems technician and was looking for the next phase in his career. With a background in cybersecurity, electronic systems, and cloud computing, Ben joined Tilson as a SkillBridge intern with our Network Operating Center (NOC) team. When Tilson needed a subject matter expert for a new application, Ben jumped at the chance to put his skills to use and recently became a full-time Application Support Specialist.

For Ben, transitioning from being an intern to a full-time employee was a recent career highlight for him. “Tilson needed someone to learn the ins and outs of a new system and it felt great to come onboard and help the team,” he said. Ben provides support for several applications across the organization. We appreciate his collaborative approach, which complements Tilson’s culture. “I love that if I ever need assistance with a project or someone to collaborate with, there’s always someone here who is happy to help,” said Ben.

When Ben isn’t configuring Tilson applications, he spends his free time hiking, playing disc golf, or going fishing. He especially loves to unwind by going night fishing at the beach. Ben currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his fiancé, son, and their Staffordshire terrier and cat.

Fun fact: Ben loves learning about American history and U.S. military accomplishments.

Thanks for being part of the Tilson team and for all your help; we appreciate everything you do!
