For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Shawn!
Shawn is a GIS Specialist based out of Tilson’s Portland, ME headquarters and is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining geographic information system (GIS) data. He also maintains Tilson’s GIS system data integrity and facilitates user training.
“I like that I’m constantly learning new things and being challenged,” said Shawn. “I enjoy that, even though there’s constant pressure to meet tight deadlines, I’m trusted to get it done without someone constantly looking over my shoulder.”
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys camping, hiking, and playing video and board games. Shawn is originally from Berkley, Massachusetts and currently lives in South Portland, ME. His favorite food is the loaded tater tots from Blue Rooster Food Company in Portland, ME and his favorite movie series is the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Shawn also enjoys aquaponic gardening and has an aquaponic herb garden with six fish in it.
Fun Fact: Shawn lived in Tangier, Morocco for 4 months while studying abroad in college!
