Tilson Tuesdays, Darrin Martin

For this week’s Tilson Tuesdays employee highlight, meet Darrin Martin!

Darrin joined Tilson in early 2023 as our Director of Training and Development. He supports Tilson’s ongoing growth and development through training initiatives and strategic partnerships for our team members. His goal is to empower Tilson’s workforce with the knowledge and skills to do their jobs effectively, and most importantly, safely.

Darrin enjoys the opportunities his role provides to collaborate with various Tilson teams, both remotely and in person. “It’s been fantastic to meet new people and explore the communities where we are working,” Darrin said. “Even when virtual, I look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces every time I join a meeting.” Darrin also appreciates the culture at Tilson which lets people ask important “why” questions. “We are encouraged to discuss and challenge things in constructive ways to make sure we’re always making the right decisions for all parties involved.”

In his personal life, Darrin’s five-year-old son keeps life busy with school and Cub Scouts. Darrin considers himself a woodworking enthusiast and enjoys building things. An avid DIYer, he is especially good at getting home projects 90% completed. To unwind and relax on the weekends, Darrin meets with long distance friends to play video games together.

Fun fact: Darrin lived in Mexico for several years and is fluent in Spanish. He enjoys Spanish podcasts, movies, and music as a way to continue using the language in his daily life.

Thank you for all your hard work supporting the growth and safety of our team members, Darrin! We appreciate the energy and commitment you bring to Tilson.
