How Does The Program Work?

Five candidates will be co-selected by Tilson and the Roux Institute to pursue a funded master’s degree program at the Roux Institute while working part-time at Tilson building America’s information infrastructure.

As a part-time employee and a full-time student, candidates will learn the different facets of a high-growth, national telecommunications company, and work on real-time, client-facing projects. Candidates will have the opportunity to immediately apply the professional and technical skills acquired at the Roux Institute in a business setting. This graduate degree / work opportunity includes two positions for those seeking a master’s degree in Project Management, two positions for those seeking a master’s degree in Analytics, and one position for a master’s degree in Computer Science.

What is the application deadline?

The application period closes Friday, May 28th at 5pm EST.

When does the program start?

The program starts in September 2021.

How much does the program cost?

This program is offered at no cost to participants. The master’s degree programs (valued at $70k for the Computer Science degree, $41k for the Professional Studies in Analytics degree, and $34k for the Project Management degree for the 2021-2022 academic year) are covered in full. The part-time salaried position with Tilson is valued at up to $45k per year salary.

What are the requirements for successful completion of this program?

Candidates must maintain good academic standing in the Roux degree program and positive employment status at Tilson.

What are the conditions of the scholarship?

Your scholarship is contingent on your commitment to completing the program in full beginning in the Fall 2021 term. You must reside in Maine for the entirety of the program. It is expected that you will remain in good standing in your role at Tilson to remain qualified for the scholarship award and that you remain in good standing in your Roux Institute program to maintain the position with Tilson. This program does not guarantee a full-time job will be available upon graduation. If your employment with Tilson ends due to unforeseen circumstances prior to your completing the Roux Institute program, you are still able to complete your program although the scholarship award will require a new, needs-based assessment.

What housing support does this program offer?

Northeastern University’s Office of Off-Campus Housing will provide support in finding appropriate housing but does not provide financial support.
