Businesses typically implement commercial, off-the-shelf software (COTS) solutions to increase efficiency through technology. Our consultants excel at guiding clients through this process, from identifying and quantifying needs, to selecting, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining software solutions. While a typical COTS implementation follows the steps outlined below, one size does not always fit all as different clients have different needs. Tilson engages with clients to craft unique project plans to meet specific needs.

  • Business Analysis: Through engaging critical business areas and subject matter experts, we identify client needs and determine the best strategy to leverage software solutions.
  • Software Selection: Using our industry knowledge and understanding of our client's needs, we manage all aspects of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process including identifying appropriate vendors and writing and distributing the RFP. We then compile vendor results, facilitate software demonstrations, evaluate and score responses and provide the client with the data and advice needed to confidently select a software vendor.
  • Implementation: Once a vendor has been chosen, we work with both the client and vendor to implement the software solution including data input, testing and validation, end-user training and go-live troubleshooting.  
  • Improvement/Ongoing Services: Following software implementation, we work with clients to make further changes and provide ongoing support and training to ensure that software solutions are being fully leveraged and optimized.
