For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Tamarin!
Tamarin is a GIS Analyst on Tilson’s Engineering team, where she is responsible for providing geospatial intelligence mapping to support our growing Outside Plant and Broadband Consulting teams.
“Tilson’s emphasis on safety, both mental and physical, is very important to me as a safety advocate,” said Tamarin. “I really enjoy the high-spirited ‘can-do’ culture that is infused across the organization. Working with such talented GIS professionals is very inspiring.”
Outside of work, Tamarin enjoys spending as much time as possible on the water. As a watercraft enthusiast, she leads groups on long distance ocean trips to places like the Bahamas. Her longest tour was 600 miles round-trip from Miami to Eleuthera, Bahamas, which took her two weeks, with stops to various islands along the way. Tamarin is from Cape Town, South Africa, and she currently lives on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Her favorite sports team is the Georgia Bulldogs, her favorite food is Italian, and she’s an avid fantasy reader, especially J.R.R. Tolkien.
Fun fact: Tamarin has a retired racehorse, Knight Villain, who is 27 years old. She also has a tuxedo cat named Star and enjoys fishkeeping as a hobby.
