For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Mark!
Mark is a Business Development Manager in Portland, ME and is responsible for new business development across Tilson’s telecom infrastructure solutions including private LTE/CBRS, fixed wireless, FTTx, and infrastructure consulting for the education, government, municipal, and enterprise industries. He works closely with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and other industry partners to deliver turn-key, innovative network builds.
“Tilson breeds autonomy and self-growth,” says Mark. “That ‘start up’ mentality still rings true even with our enormous growth. You are given the resources and assets and shown your trajectory from Day 1 – for me, it has been about how I have learned to navigate that trajectory and then reflect on my accomplishments. This is what gives me the constant drive to grind through this growth – I know what is on the other side.”
Outside of work, Mark enjoys focusing on mental, physical, and spiritual well-being and teaches meditation to young adults with behavioral health issues. In the summertime, you can find him coaching Tilson’s softball team! He is originally from Braintree, MA and spent the majority of his 20s and 30s living in Boston before he relocated to Portland 6 years ago. Mark says, “I love Boston, it will always be my city, but Portland now holds a very special place in my heart.” Mark is currently reading “The Fifth Risk” by Michael Lewis and loves to watch “The Expanse”, “Mandalorian”, and “The Boys”.
Fun Fact: Jon Bernthal, the actor who portrayed Shane from the Walking Dead and appeared in Ford v Ferrari, Wolf of Wall Street, and many other TV series and films, was Mark’s roommate in Boston for several years and they are still close friends till this day.
Thanks for all your hard work, Mark! We’re glad to have you on the team.
