For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Joe Albano!
Joe is a Regional Director on Tilson’s Outside Plant team, based remotely in Arizona. He oversees and mentors our Outside Plant project and construction teams responsible for delivering fiber deployments across the Southwest region. Prior to joining Tilson, Joe spent over 27 years in the telecom industry and served four years in the United States Marines as an Armorer and a Primary Marksmanship Instructor.
“At Tilson, one of the most inspiring things I’ve witnessed is our ongoing expansion across the Southwest region, especially after the challenges of COVID-19,” said Joe. “I’m excited to grow my team and provide them with opportunities to develop into future industry leaders – mentoring and developing others is what I enjoy most about my job and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”
Joe appreciates that Tilson’s culture has a focus on safety, values employees’ military service, promotes teamwork, and is committed to professional growth. “Our dedicated Outside Plant project and construction managers work toward a common goal while also supporting each other’s individual development,” Joe added. “Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting your career, Tilson provides a supportive environment to thrive and grow.”
Outside of work, Joe enjoys going on outdoor adventures, trying new restaurants, or just hanging out at home with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. “Being with my family is truly the best way for me to recharge and find balance in my life,” he said. Joe grew up in Long Island, New York, and currently lives in Arizona where he has developed a love for Mexican food.His favorite movies are Tommy Boy, Star Wars, Office Space, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and his favorite tv show is The Curse of Oak Island.
Fun fact: Joe lived in Spain for a year during his time in the Marines.
