For this week’s Tilson Tuesdays employee spotlight, meet Jay Krausslach!
Jay is an Outside Plant Construction Supervisor based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, leading the construction and installation of fiber optic infrastructure. Since this work involves digging underground to install the fiber, Jay’s primary focus is to ensure the teams are doing this work safely. Prior to digging, Jay and his team take several precautions, including calling 811 and marking existing utilities, to protect our crews and the surrounding neighborhood. Thanks to Jay’s dedication to safety, and the unwavering commitment of his team, the Green Bay team has gone 630+ days without a utility strike.
Jay has been with Tilson for over two years and has spearheaded multiple fiber installation projects, however he says his favorite project at Tilson was performing construction in front of Lambeau Field where the Green Bay Packers play. As a major Packers fan, coming to work right where his favorite team plays made for a unique and memorable experience.
Describing Tilson’s culture, Jay focuses on the relationships he’s built with his team, saying that it’s “more like a friend group than coworkers – we all have each other’s backs.” He goes on to say that he appreciates the work/life balance provided, especially with a young daughter of his own. “If anything comes up, Tilson is very understanding and always puts your family first.”
Outside of work, Jay enjoys time with his family and working on home improvement projects. When it’s time to unwind, Jay likes to go fishing.
Fun fact: Despite living in Wisconsin since age 14 and being an avid fisherman, this year was the first time Jay tried deer hunting.
