For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Doreen!
Doreen is Tilson’s Director of Enterprise Applications and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing application development and management to enhance business operations and associated back-office systems.
“One of the number one reasons I came to work for Tilson so long ago was because of the plethora of intelligent individuals employed at Tilson,” said Doreen. “I would have to say that this is still high on the list of why I enjoy working at Tilson; it really keeps you on your toes and challenges you to continuously improve.”
Outside of work, Doreen enjoys exploring the outdoors with friends and family and tending to her gardens or small orchard she started, which is filled with apple and cherry trees. Doreen is also a huge history buff and voracious reader; one of her favorite books is the “A Fine Balance” by Rohinton Mistry.
Fun Fact: Doreen grew up on a farm where her and her family of 7 grew and raised almost all the food they needed throughout the year. Her summers were spent in the garden or in the kitchen helping her mother can and preserve food.
