For this week’s Tilson Tuesdays spotlight, meet Dina Hernandez!
Dina is a Hydro Vac Operator III on Tilson’s Arizona Outside Plant team, helping build the underground infrastructure needed to connect residential and commercial buildings to high-speed fiber internet. She operates a hydro vac truck, which is a piece of construction equipment that uses high-pressure water to cut and clear soil, allowing our teams to locate and visualize buried utilities. This plays a significant role in making sure Tilson’s underground construction is done safely and effectively. Dina’s work is essential for preparing a job site prior to drilling operations and helps protect our crew, the public, and existing utilities like water, electric, and gas.
Dina finds inspiration at work every day, always looking for ways to improve and grow. “Doing the best work I can is something that I love,” she said, “and I love that Tilson recognizes you for your hard work.”
Her manager, Frank Hawkins, commended Dina for her contributions to Tilson, saying, “Dina is an outstanding employee and always goes above and beyond. She is always helpful, extremely safety conscious, and is a great mentor to other employees.”
When not at work, Dina likes to spend quality time with her family and her kids more than anything else.
Fun fact: Dina’s favorite animal is the capybara.
Thank you, Dina, for showing up every day with a great attitude, for your hard work, and for keeping Tilson’s #1 value of Safety at the center of all you do. It is greatly appreciated and admired by all!
