Tilson Tuesdays, Ben Perez

For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Ben!

Ben is a Drill Operator based out of Tilson’s Green Bay, Wisconsin office and is responsible for operating our Whitetail drill to install fiber cables underground. Prior to being a Drill Operator, Ben worked as a Laborer on Tilson’s Outside Plant team, and after less than a year, was promoted to his current position.

“The growth of Tilson has been fast and furious,” said Ben. “It’s been a lot of fun. I love working at Tilson. I worked in logging for most of my life, but I needed a change. Although I’m new to this industry, I’ve learned a lot in the past year. Recently, my team hit 100,000 feet of fiber drilled in the Green Bay market, which I am proud to be a part of. I’m grateful to my entire team for helping me get to where I am today but especially Gabriel Godinez Cortes, Austin Kaminski, and Gerald Kuisle.”

Outside of work, Ben enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and “better half”, Denise, their three children, two dogs, and cat. Ben is from the Menominee Native American Reservation in northern Wisconsin and still remains a member of the tribe. His favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers, his favorite type of food is Mexican, and his favorite genre of movies and tv shows is science-fiction.

Fun fact: Growing up, Ben was an amateur boxer and received a silver medal in the Junior Olympics!

Thanks for helping us reach our goals, Ben. We’re so glad to have you on the Tilson team.
