Tilson Tuesdays, Jose Zavala

For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Jose!

Jose is a SkillBridge Intern on Tilson’s recruiting team and is responsible for helping source candidates for the DOD SkillBridge program, which allows transitioning service members to learn new skills, earn certifications, work in the field, and directly contribute to their communities. Applications for Tilson’s SkillBridge program are open year-round. Please contact skillbridge@tilsontech.com with any questions.

Jose currently serves in the U.S. Air Force as a Radar and Navigational Aid Systems Technician and is transitioning to a civilian career path after serving for four years. Regarding Tilson’s culture, Jose said, “I would describe the culture as safe, supportive, and goal-driven. Tilson employees want their peers to succeed, and the environment helps everyone thrive and grow. Everyone I’ve had the pleasure to meet and work with here is a high-caliber professional.”

“I’m very excited about Tilson’s OSP project expansion and the job opportunities it brings to so many communities,” said Jose. “I’m also looking forward to seeing how transitioning service members fit into our expansion.”

Outside of work, Jose enjoys cooking with his wife, working out, disc golfing, and hunting. Jose lived in Las Vegas for 20 years before joining the Air Force and now lives in Perry, Georgia. He roots for the Tennessee Titans, his favorite type of food is anything spicy, and his favorite book/movie series is the Lord of the Rings.

Fun Fact: Jose is originally from Jalisco, Mexico, and moved to the U.S. when he was a kid.

Thank you for your hard work and service to our country, Jose!
