For this week’s #tilsontuesdays employee highlight, meet Ian!
Ian is the Director of Fiber Business Development leading the commercialization of dark fiber by leasing capacity to customers across the country. Recently, Tilson partnered with Plenary Americas and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to maintain, operate, and develop network infrastructure to extend broadband capacity along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The 220-mile fiber optic network will enable customers to expand their service areas and customer reach on direct, low latency routes across Pennsylvania: learn more about this project.
“I’d describe Tilson as the dream job I’ve wanted for the past 10+ years,” said Ian. “I would compare the Tilson culture to that of a family atmosphere where everyone is caring and respectful of each other.”
Outside of work, Ian is passionate about advocating for better healthcare for veterans. As a Philadelphia native, Ian roots for all four of Philadelphia’s teams; the Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, and Phillies. His favorite food is Santucci’s pizza from South Philly and his favorite movie is “Slap Shot.”
Fun Fact: Ian played ice hockey growing up and once finished 5th in the U.S. National Championship.
