In recognition of National Veterans and Military Families Month, we are highlighting some of the veterans and active service members we are honored to work with here at Tilson. For this week’s #tilsontuesdays highlight, meet Matt!
Matt is a Staff Attorney out of Tilson’s Portland, Maine office, where he provides legal support and site acquisition for Tilson Infrastructure’s Tower and CAPX Pole Programs.
Matt has served 13 years in the Air National Guard and is still serving part-time as a Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of the Cyber Transport IT shop, which focuses on installing and maintaining network infrastructure.
“Tilson is incredibly supportive of my continued service in the Air National Guard,” he says. “I’m able to take the time off for my annual trainings without any pressure to not do so.”
For those who are transitioning to the civilian sector, Matt has this advice: “Be patient and humble yourself. The military is more than a job- it’s a lifestyle which has its own culture and it’s incumbent on you (the veteran) to try and adapt to your new settings and civilian culture.”
