Tilson Recognized as ENR Top 600 Specialty Contractor for Seventh Consecutive Year

For Immediate Release

PORTLAND, Maine (10/26/2022). Tilson, a national network development and information infrastructure professional services firm, earned a place on the Engineering News Record (ENR) Top 600 list of Specialty Contractors for the seventh year in a row. Tilson’s ongoing presence on the ENR list reflects the company’s expertise and sustained growth in the telecommunications sector. This announcement follows Tilson’s recent recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest growing private companies for the 12th consecutive year.

Tilson’s substantial self-perform capability and its diversification between wireless, fiber, and consulting services continues to be a major driver in the company’s growth. By self-performing all aspects of permitting, engineering, and construction, Tilson has been able to quickly meet customer demands in the rapidly growing wireless and fiber-to-the-home sectors.

In 2022, Tilson expanded its fiber construction presence to Arizona, Connecticut, Idaho, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. In Wyoming, Tilson partnered with Visionary, one of the largest internet service providers in the Rocky Mountain region, to be the design builder for fiber broadband deployment to residential areas and schools. Additionally, Tilson secured long term fiber commercialization deals on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, North Carolina Department of Transportation highways, and Purdue University.

“This growth is happening because of our long-term commitment to building and developing our workforce,” said Joshua Broder, Tilson CEO. “We build strong teams of mission-driven people to create sustainable growth. The hard-working and motivated people at Tilson are the reason we’re able to meet the demands of our industry and our mission to build America’s information infrastructure.”

In early 2022, Tilson hired veteran telecommunications executive Darrell Ingram as Chief Operating Officer to lead Tilson’s ongoing operational growth and its rapidly expanding engineering and construction self-performance capabilities. Also joining the leadership team this year was LaTavia Bowens as Senior Vice President of Business Operations. Bowens now leads Tilson’s customer operations team and supports its increasing fiber and wireless client base.

Tilson began 2022 with 550 team members and expects to finish the year with more than 1,000. Each week, Tilson hires an average of 30 new hires and currently has over 140 open positions nationwide for engineers, tower technicians, drillers, linemen, project managers, accounting professionals, and more.
