Tilson Introduces New Leaders of Safety & Training, EV Operations, & Multiple Internal Promotions

For Immediate Release

PORTLAND, ME (05/29/2024). Tilson, a national leader in network development and information infrastructure services, announced the appointment of Russell Clayton as Vice President of its Safety and Training Division to lead its strategic initiatives in safety and training across Tilson’s Wireless Construction and Maintenance, Outside Plant, Engineering, and Consulting teams. The addition of this position reaffirms Tilson’s commitment to delivering top-tier services to its customers while prioritizing safety and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

“Russ brings over 16 years of extensive experience leading safety and health programs across various industries, including construction, manufacturing, utility infrastructure, and oil and gas,” said Adria Horn, President & EVP of Workforce. “We’re confident his experience will drive our commitment to safety and training as we continue to scale.”

Prior to joining Tilson, Clayton served as Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety for a large petroleum refining and distribution company. Currently, an Adjunct Instructor of Occupational Safety and Health at Brigham Young University-Idaho, Clayton designs safety curriculum and mentors students entering the safety profession. Clayton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University.

In an effort to expand and diversify its Wireless Construction division, Tilson welcomed David Payne in a newly created position as Associate Vice President of Electric Vehicle (EV) Operations. Payne will lead the development and deployment of Tilson’s full-cycle EV infrastructure solutions and brings invaluable expertise to his new role. As the former Senior Director for EV Charging Solutions and Partnerships, Payne spearheaded initiatives aimed at developing charging infrastructure and advancing sustainable transportation solutions. Payne holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Caldwell University and is pursuing a master’s in organizational leadership at Southern New Hampshire University.

Moreover, Tilson reinforces its organic growth trajectory through a series of internal promotions, including Thomas Vassillion to VP of Finance, Adam Quinlan to AVP of Broadband Consulting, and Tracy Blair to Director of Application and Data Architecture. With a workforce of over 1,400 team members nationwide, these internal promotions reflect Tilson’s dedication to ensuring continued excellence in service delivery and strategic leadership across its diverse portfolio.
