PORTLAND, Maine (December 04, 2018). Tilson is proud to share that it has been named “Business of the Year” for 2018 by the city of Portland, Maine. The distinction is one of four awards recognized by the Portland Development Corporation for its role in expanding the city’s economic vitality and quality of life.
Headquartered in Portland, Maine, Tilson has consulted on local and national projects, installed thousands of miles of fiber optic networks throughout the country, earning a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies for the past eight consecutive years. With just three employees in 2007, Tilson has since grown to 450 employees in 17 office locations around the country. The company continues to grow and is currently seeking to fill over 70 open positions nationwide.

Mayor Ethan Strimling and the Portland Development Corporation will recognize the four honorees at this year’s annual awards ceremony on December 6 from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM at Ocean Gateway, One Commercial Street. In a statement released by the City of Portland, Mayor Strimling added “Housing, network communications, and great food are all vital ingredients for a healthy and growing economy. It’s a pleasure to recognize these entities for their contributions to our great city.”
