Northstar Group Services, the world’s largest demolition company, executes frequent strategic mergers and acquisitions. Speed and budget for system integration is crucial to the outcomes of these large-scale transactions.
During a recent acquisition, Northstar’s internal resources were constrained with other priorities, and they looked for an outside company with experience in both Spectrum and Vista to handle some or all of the data conversion activities on a tight timeframe. Northstar also sought assistance implementing Viewpoint HR as part of its integration strategy.
Based on our long experience performing ERP implementations for private and public sector clients, Northstar selected Tilson as its integration partner. Given time constraints and Northstar’s formidable in-house expertise, Tilson offered a streamlined, light touch project plan that stressed economy and agility.
Tilson and Northstar agreed to project parameters and then the two teams collaborated to optimize software integration efforts and to adjust plans as needed to complete the data conversion and systems onboarding in short order. Northstar and Tilson’s joint efforts were successful. The new company went live on Northstar’s platform with minimal interruptions and Tilson’s contribution came in under the allocated budget, proving the value of open communication, dedication to collaboration, and flexibility to marshal the strengths of two experienced teams.
“We were really in a bind and up against some tight deadlines with a recent acquisition. Tilson stepped in and relieved all of the stress and got the job done on time and under budget while keeping both teams involved happy and productive throughout. I couldn’t imagine a firm out there that would have delivered better under pressure.”
