Tilson serves federal, state and local government with our full range of information technology and telecom services. We approach government projects knowing that we need to both perform well and help our agency customers comply with their regulator, procurement, and statutory obligations. Most importantly, we understand the primacy of the public interest. Keeping that in mind, we have attention to detail with:
- Fair wage obligations and certified payrolls
- Statutory requirements like whistleblower protection and equal opportunity
- Transparency in reporting
- Conflict of interest
- Procurement rules
What sets Tilson apart in the government space?
Our team of 100 people is still small enough to be nimble, but big enough to take on meaty projects. We bring industry best practices to our government customers. We hire seasoned experts in IT and telecom, many with deep experience in private industry. Our telecom staff work for cellular and land line carriers regularly. Our software and project management teams are frequently engaged in industry projects using agile development. Our team has deployed New England’s largest fiber optic networks, managed the deployment of smart grid infrastructure in four states, brought 4G LTE cellular coverage to the tunnels under Boston, and developed the software that keeps the troops fed in Europe and in Central Asia. Our team was recognized as #901 of America’s fastest growing companies in 2012.
Tilson is led by Joshua Broder, a former Army Signal Officer with experience as the Officer in Charge of the joint tactical communications network in Afghanistan. Tilson’s COO Michael Swartz is a respected industry expert in information security and critical infrastructure, who led the post breach remediation effort for a major national retailer. Tilson’s CFO Gary Grunewald has worked for KPMG and BancBoston, as well as at leading tech companies LightRiver (a network product and services company) and Oxford Networks (a telecom and data center provider). Our leadership team values integrity with our customers and teaming partners.
Our past performance
Speaks for itself and is highlighted throughout this site. We perform on large projects for private companies, local, state, and federal government.
We can’t do it all ourselves and understand our limitations. We work hard to partner with our clients, subcontractors, and other primes. It’s important to us to work with others that share our values about the mission, business ethics, and loving what we do.
