The Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge internship program was created to provide opportunities for Active-Duty Service Members to work directly on real-time projects, receive training and mentorship, and gain valuable career experience before transitioning to civilian life. As a proud partner organization for the DoD SkillBridge program since 2019, Tilson is a veteran-led company actively employing veterans, including many still serving in the guard and reserve. We understand the unique skills, dedication, and leadership qualities military personnel bring to the table. That’s why we’re committed to supporting your transition from the military to civilian life by offering hands-on training, mentorship, and meaningful employment opportunities.
At Tilson, SkillBridge interns gain valuable civilian work experience in the telecommunications sector while applying their service experience during the three-to-six-month internship. At the end of the program, over 25% of interns move into full-time positions.
Applications are accepted year-round and are reviewed on a rolling basis, with flexible start dates based on your transition schedule.
“Tilson’s SkillBridge program gave me the opportunity to transition from a military to a civilian career. Now, I get the opportunity to accomplish a new mission objective – helping others do the same as they join Tilson to create America’s information infrastructure.” – Rennie Onders, Manager of Workforce Programs and former SkillBridge Intern
To participate in Tilson’s DoD SkillBridge internship program, you must be in your last 180 days of active service and meet the eligibility requirements listed on the DoD’s SkillBridge site. You will continue to earn your pay, allowances, and benefits through the DoD during your internship.
Experience in telecommunications is not a requirement to be a SkillBridge intern at Tilson; we know that military service empowers individuals with valuable knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) that can translate in any industry.
