PORTLAND, ME (July 30, 2012) Joshua Broder, President of Tilson, has been appointed to serve on the Advisory Council of the ConnectME Authority. “I’m honored to join the Advisory Council,” said Broder. “The Authority serves a vital role advancing the universal availability of broadband service here in Maine, and I’m looking forward to working with Phil Lindley, Executive Director of the Authority; Lisa Leahy, Associate Executive Director; and the other members of the Advisory Council.”
Founded in 2006, the ConnectME Authority was established by the Maine State Legislature to stimulate investment in advanced communications technology infrastructure in unserved areas of the state so as to enhance economic development, healthcare, education, tourism, public health and safety, and government efficiency. Since 2010, the ConnectME Authority has received over $5 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grants to support broadband mapping and planning, address file development, broadband capacity building, and technical assistance projects.
