PORTLAND, ME (January 18, 2012) Chuck Gerry, Director of Tilson’s Utilities Group, has been invited to present at the Maine GIS User Group’s 2012 GIS for Utilities Conference. The conference, which will be held on Thursday, January 20 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor, will offer attendees a wide range of GIS-focused learning opportunities.
Gerry and Glenn Gagne of Central Maine Power Company’s (CMP) GIS Department will present on the subject of, “Migration from Company Developed GIS to COTS GIS.” Attendees of this session will gain an understanding of how CMP is using GIS tools to design and implement their smart meter network.
Gerry currently leads a team of Tilson’s consultants supporting the deployment and management of a smart grid network in Maine consisting of more than 600,000 smart meters. Under his leadership, Tilson’s Utilities Group recorded growth of 650 percent. Tilson’s team excels at brokering creative solutions in challenging operational environments while bringing mobile carrier quality, engineering, project management, and uptime to smart grid operators.
