Joshua Broder

Chief Executive Officer, Board Chair

Joshua Broder serves as CEO and is the majority owner of Tilson, which under his leadership, has grown from less than 10 employees to 240 in seven years. From 2010-2013, Josh led several large, successful Recovery Act funded technology infrastructure projects in New England for Tilson that included 2,300 new miles of fiber optic cable and 7,000 smart grid wireless nodes. Josh cut his teeth in leadership and technology as an Army Signal Officer on missions in Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Afghanistan running the tactical communications network in support of US and coalition forces. Josh holds a Bachelor's degree from Middlebury College, is a distinguished military graduate of the University of Vermont's Military studies program and is a member of Leadership Maine's Omicron class. Josh is also a graduate of AT&T's Operation Hand Salute at JFK University. Josh serves on the boards of Kleinschmidt Associates (a multi-national engineering firm),  the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, and Skowhegan Savings Bank. Josh is an active member of the Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA).

Board Member, BP, former CEO Duke Energy

Paul Anderson was formerly chief executive at BHP Billiton and Duke Energy, where he also served as chairman of the board. Having previously been chief executive officer and managing director of BHP Limited and then BHP Billiton Limited and BHP Billiton Plc, he rejoined these latter two boards in 2006 as a non-executive director, retiring on 31 January 2010. He also served as a non-executive director on a number of boards in the US and Australia and as chief executive officer of Pan Energy Corp.

Paul Anderson became a board member of BP in early 2010, joining the President's Sustainability Committee (PSC). He was a member of the Gulf of Mexico committee from its formation in August 2010. He took the chair of the PSC in December 2012. As chair he has continued the committee’s focus on safety matters. His broad experience of the global oil and gas industry and of the US business environment has benefited the board, the SEEAC and the Gulf of Mexico committee. He has actively supported the work of the BP Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) academy. He has led the PSC on several visits to the company’s operations and has commenced a dialogue with the company’s socially responsible investors.

Jorge Rodriguez is the President & CEO of Telmex USA and Telvista Inc., and is the senior executive responsible for AmericaMovil's global enterprise segment. He is responsible for managing international products and BPO organizations, leading the firm’s global enterprise strategy and serving on several boards including the Board of Overseers for Columbia University School of Professional Studies. 

Rodriguez has over 28 years of telecommunications, management, and international experience. Prior to joining Telmex, he held various executive positions at AT&T and AT&T Latin America including; Regional Vice President, and Vice President of Sales and Operations. Among his many achievements at AT&T and AT&T L.A., he launched startup operations across Latin America, established a fully integrated regional operation in support of the firm’s Global Clients, and was a Board Member of several AT&T L.A. operating companies.

Rodriguez holds a M.Sc. in Technology from Columbia University, an MBA from RIT, is a graduate of Keenan Flagler's (UNC Chapel Hill) Advanced Management Program, and obtained his B.A. degree in Biology/Molecular Biology from Colgate University.

Gary retuned to Hussey Seating in November 2008 as Vice President of Finance / CFO, after holding the same position at The Emery-Waterhouse Company since 2004. Prior to that he had worked at Hussey Seating in a variety of positions in Finance, Operations, and International Sourcing. He began his career working for the international accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, now PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Gary graduated from the University of Maine Orono in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and received his masters in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from Babson College in 1981. He also received his CPA in 1981. Gary currently servers on Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of Southern Maine. He was also past Board Chair and Board member of Junior Achievement, a program that teaches students about entrepreneurship and financial literacy. He and his wife Tina live in Portland and have two adult children.

Jill McGowan is the founder and owner of the apparel company, Jill McGowan, Inc.

While working as a pattern maker in the men's apparel industry early in her career, Jill recognized the need to improve the quality and standards of women's apparel. 

She started her company in 1994 and sold to four stores in New England.  Today, the brand is available in specialty stores throughout the United States and her flagship Jill McGowan retail store at 56 Main St. in Freeport, Maine.
She enjoys the summer months kayaking, swimming and camping and playing hockey sustains her throughout the long Maine winters.

She lives in Falmouth with her husband and son.

Doug Morrell

CEO of SGC Engineering, LLC

Mr. Morrell has over 35 years of experience in management, engineering design, project management and development, regulatory and operations. He has worked on both public and private sector projects, with extensive experience managing a broad range of issues related to the electric utility business. As the Manager of Plant Engineering at Bangor Hydro Electric Co., Mr. Morrell was responsible for managing the internal generation facilities consisting of hydro, both Peaking and Run-of-River, storage dams and steam generation. He was responsible for design, regulatory affairs such as FERC Licensing, redevelopment and improvements of generation facilities, in addition to environmental services and compliance. He also represented Bangor Hydro as a member of the Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Plant Board of Directors.

 

In 2002 Mr. Morrell incorporated SGC Engineering, LLC a professional services firm providing engineering and related services to the Energy Industry. The company grew to approximately 95 employees with several offices located across the country. The firm was recognized as the 47th fastest growing A/E/P firm in North America by ZwigWhite in 2008.

In 2010, SGC was acquired by Senergy LTD, a privately held, Aberdeen, Scotland based energy services firm with 450 employees and offices throughout the world. Mr. Morrell continues as Co President of SGC Engineering, LLC.

Nat co-founded CEI Ventures in 1994 to manage socially responsible venture capital funds. He made his first CEI equity investment in 1988 and was responsible for developing CEI's venture capital program. Nat joined CEI as a Loan and Investment Officer, putting $8 million in capital to work in over 130 projects. Prior to CEI, Nat worked at Intersouth Partners, Kitty Hawk Capital and Chemical Venture Partners. Nat earned his BA from Duke University and his MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business.

Richard Schotte

Investor and President of the Maine Capital Strategies Corporation

Richard Schotte is a successful telecom investor and fund manager. Richard was recently involved in the sale of Oxford Networks, a Maine ILEC, CLEC, and cloud services provider to a Canadian venture fund after serving on the board since 2009. Richard is currently retired after a career in investment management. He was briefly at Manufacturers Hanover Trust in New York before spending ten years with the investment division of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, where he was a venture capitalist and later managed the company’s marketable bond operations. After MassMutual, Mr. Schotte spent twenty years as a fixed-income portfolio manager in Los Angeles with Capital Group, whose subsidiary Capital Research and Management Company manages mutual funds under the name The American Funds Group. He was also a portfolio manager of pension and endowment accounts for Capital Guardian Trust Company, a sister company. The years that he was at Capital Group were ones of spectacular growth.
