Director Of Business Systems
Doreen Bell, the Director of Business Systems, joined Tilson in 2009. After years of working as a self-employed consultant, she wanted to join a collaborative team of intelligent, dedicated and passionate technology professionals. She found Tilson to be the perfect fit.
Since coming to Tilson, Doreen has witnessed and influenced a great deal of change for both the company and its clients. She is viewed as a respected and contributory team leader.
Doreen received a B.S. in Accounting, with a minor in Computer Science, from the University of Southern Maine. She began her career as an accountant but found herself drawn to ERP system projects, and soon after started consulting for construction companies.
Doreen excels at guiding companies through the business analysis, selection, implementation, and training phases that comprise a successful ERP software selection. In addition, she works with clients to manage data conversions and upgrades across a variety of IT systems.
Tilson’s empowering environment allows Doreen to pursue her passions for interacting with clients, transforming business processes, and achieving efficiencies through technology. She recently applied these passions to assisting Bangor Publishing Company, the publisher of the Bangor Daily News, in making sweeping changes, including implementing a new company-wide financial management and reporting system. She possesses the rare skills of actively listening to clients, understanding their challenges, and designing solutions to propel them forward.
Around the office, Doreen is enthusiastic and spirited. “I like working at Tilson for the diversity of people,” she says. “They are highly intelligent industry professionals who are leaders in their fields.” She finds that she continues to learn a great deal from them.
Doreen maintains a strong balance between her work and her personal and family life. Friends and family, including her daughter Cassie, are integral parts of her holistic life. In her spare time she enjoys sporting events, theater, hiking, kayaking, snowmobiling, and travel. She recently took a ten-day vacation tour of Italy, where she found inspiration in the country’s historic art and culture.
